Two teenagers, a 19-year-old man and 17-year-old youth, are facing dozens of charges in relation to a string of robberies, police in Winnipeg say.

Police said Saturday that the 19-year-old was arrested May 16 while the 17-year-old was taken into custody on Friday.

The robberies, eight of them, took place at businesses across Winnipeg between May 2 and May 16.

According to police, the suspects confronted employees in the business, demanding cash and cigarettes.

One of the suspects was brandishing a handgun. Police said it was fired in one incident, adding that no one was hurt.
