More than 200 people in Winnipeg released balloons to remember Carolyn Marie Sinclair, whose body was found near a dumpster over the weekend.
About 50 balloons were released as part of a vigil Tuesday evening, held in the back lane by Notre Dame Avenue where the 25-year-old's body was discovered on Saturday.
Many who attended the vigil placed candles and mementoes by the hydro pole where Sinclair's body was found.
Her sister, Amanda Sinclair, stapled onto the pole a poster on which people wrote messages to Carolyn.
Police have not said how Sinclair was killed.
Sinclair's family had been searching for her since Dec. 13. That was when they last heard from her, when she told them she would be home for Christmas.
Sinclair was five months pregnant at the time she went missing. Before the vigil, Amanda Sinclair told CBC News she would release one balloon for Carolyn and one for her sister's unborn child.
