Fire destroys home in Winnipeg

A fire caused significant damage to a home on Chernichan Drive in Winnipeg's River East neighbourhood on Thursday. (James Rinn)
A home in Winnipeg was heavily damaged by fire Thursday morning.
Emergency crews were called to the home on Chernichan Drive, in the River East neighbourhood, at about 5:30 a.m.
The call came in as a fire in the garage but the flames quickly spread to the attached house.
It was extinguished by 7:30 a.m. but the cause of the blaze is not yet known.
There are no reports of injuries.
