A Winnipeg man has been sentenced to life in prison for gunning down a man who was standing at a North End bus stop.
This Winnipeg Transit shelter on Main Street was damaged from the shooting that killed Darren Walsh, 24, on July 4, 2010. (CBC)Jheruel Mananghaya pleaded guilty on Tuesday to second-degree murder in the shooting death of Darren Walsh, 24, who was fatally shot on July 4, 2010.
The shooting happened just after 2 p.m. at a Winnipeg Transit shelter near Main Street and Euclid Avenue.
Mananghaya, who was 24 years old at the time of the shooting, was sentenced to life in prison with no eligibility for parole for at least 12 years.
Walsh and Mananghaya had worked briefly at the same Winnipeg business.
