The Stanley Cup, one of the greatest symbols of hockey in Canada, came to Winnipeg on Monday for people to see at Festival du Voyageur.
The NHL's prized trophy was at the Fort la Reine tent in Voyageur Park between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. as part of Scotiabank's Celebration of Hockey tour.
Organizers were encouraging anyone who is enjoying Monday's statutory holiday, Louis Riel Day, to stop by the tent and get their pictures taken with the cup.
"Whether you're a big hockey fan watching hockey every week, or just simply love the excitement of the playoffs, it's definitely one of those iconic historical items that symbolize the Canadians' love for the biggest sport here," Julia Wall-Clarke of Scotiabank told CBC News.
"If you don't normally have the opportunity to have it in your home village, then it's a great opportunity to be able to see what Canadians are always excited to try and bring home."
Winnipeg was one of about 13 stops in the Celebration of Hockey cross-country tour.
