A woman in her 80s has died after she was hit by a vehicle at a Winnipeg intersection on Monday afternoon, according to police.

Police and emergency crews spent hours investigating the incident on Jubilee Avenue and Osborne Street, which was reported around 3 p.m. CT.

A body, covered by a tarp, was seen on the intersection for some time, while investigators examined the front end of a dump truck.

According to police, the woman attempted to cross eastbound Osborne Street in front of the truck that was southbound on Osborne Street.

Charges are not pending against the driver of the truck.

The woman's name is not being released, police said.
