A 22-year-old man was carjacked and shot on the street in Winnipeg's Centennial neighbourhood on Tuesday evening.
It happened at about 7:45 p.m. in the 500 block of Pacific Avenue, near Isabel Street.
The man was struck in the upper and lower body but was not seriously wounded and has already been released from hospital, police said.
The man, along with a 24-year-old woman, were inside a pickup truck stopped on Pacific Avenue when three to five unknown males came up and ordered them out.
As the man and woman got out, one of the males pulled out a gun and fired it several times, police said.
There were no injuries to the woman.
The suspects then fled in the truck, striking a parked vehicle, a fire hydrant and then a fence. The stolen truck was later abandoned and recovered by police in the lane of the 400 block of Pacific Avenue.
The major crimes unit is investigating but have received limited information about the suspects' descriptions.
