Skunk blamed in fatal Manitoba crash

A 59-year-old man from Winnipeg died after swerving his vehicle to avoid a skunk and losing control in rural Manitoba.
The man was driving an SUV on Saturday when the crash happened at about 7 p.m. on Highway 313 and Wendigo Road near Lac du Bonnet, RCMP said.
The vehicle rolled and the man was pronounced deceased at the scene, police said.
His wife, who was a passenger in the SUV, was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and has since been released.
Both the man and woman were wearing seatbelts at the time, police said.
The man's name is not being released to the public.
