The death of a 46-year-old man in Winnipeg's North Point Douglas area is considered suspicious and being investigated by the city's homicide unit.

Police were called just before 9:30 p.m. on Tuesday to a home in the 200 block of Austin Street North, where they found the man's body inside.

"Injuries observed to the victim appear suspicious in nature," police stated in a news release.

The cause of death has not been confirmed and is pending autopsy results. The investigation is ongoing by members of the homicide unit and no arrests have been made, police said.
