Police investigated a collision Monday involving a pedestrian and CN Rail train in Winnipeg. (CBC)A woman in her late 30s was rushed to hospital in critical condition after being hit by a freight train in Winnipeg Monday morning.
The collision, involving the CN Rail train, happened at about 5:30 a.m. near Waverley Street and Taylor Avenue, according to police.
Waverley Street was closed in both directions for nearly three hours before reopening to morning rush hour traffic.
The train remained on the tracks for a while longer as city police and CN police investigated.
No additional information was immediately available from police.
