A 17-year-old girl is missing in Winnipeg and police are concerned she may be at risk of being exploited or harmed.

A news release was issued shortly after 6 p.m. CT Friday alerting people to watch for Linnea Daniels, who was last seen in Winnipeg's north end on Thursday night around 11 p.m.

"The Winnipeg Police Service considers Daniels to be a child in need of protection as she is at high risk of being exploited, victimized or harmed," the release said. "[The] Missing Persons Unit investigators are concerned for her well-being."

Calls by CBC News to the Winnipeg Police to learn more about the case were forwarded to a voice-mail system.

The news release included a photograph of Daniels, who is described as five feet, three inches tall and weighing 100 pounds.

She was last seen wearing black pants, a white bomber-style jacket and white shoes.
