A benefit concert in Winnipeg's Centennial Concert Hall has raised $60,000 for relief efforts in Haiti.
The event, Aboriginal Nations for Haitians, featured First Nations performers. Included in the Friday show was Billy Joe Green, as well as Eagle & Hawk.
The event caught the attention of lottery winners Kirby and Maria Fontaine, who have been noted for their generosity in sharing their recent $50-million prize.
The couple, who are from the Sagkeeng First Nation northeast of Winnipeg, donated $25,000 to the fundraiser.
All proceeds will go to UNICEF's work in Haiti.
