A three-metre-long boa constrictor snake was found in a Winnipeg home Thursday during a police drug raid.
Winnipeg police reported Saturday that they made the find in the home on Polson Avenue. Officers were there with a search warrant looking for drugs.
They say they seized morphine tablets, marijuana, some cash — and one snake.
They said a 51-year-old man was charged with drug offences.
The snake was turned over to animal services. Police noted that a Winnipeg bylaw prohibits keeping exotic animals, like boa constrictors, as pets.
