Police have launched a homicide investigation on the Roseau River First Nation, about 80 kilometres south of Winnipeg.

Officers from the Dakota Ojibway Police Service were called to a home on the reserve shortly before 5 a.m. Friday. The caller said there was an injured man in the home.

When police arrived, they found a dead man inside the house. No other details were provided.

The RCMP is assisting with the investigation.

The Roseau River First Nation has about 2,200 members, half of whom live on the reserve.
