Driver dies in rural Manitoba crash

One person died after a vehicle collided with a tractor-trailer on a rural highway just outside Oakville, Man., on Wednesday, RCMP said.

The crash happened on Highway 13 near Highway 331, about two kilometres south of Oakville, at about 2:30 p.m. CT.

The lone occupant of the vehicle died at the scene, but the driver of the tractor-trailer didn't appear to be hurt, according to RCMP.

No other information about the dead motorist was immediately available. The cause of the crash is under investigation, police said.

Oakville is about 25 kilometres east of Portage la Prairie.
