(Shaun McLeod/CBC)A Winnipeg man was stabbed while being robbed of a case of beer in the West Broadway neighbourhood early Sunday morning.
The victim is a 31-year-old man who was walking near an area beer vendor when he was attacked at about 1 a.m. CT, police said.
Police initially reported the stabbing took place in the 600 block of Sherbrook Street, but later Sunday said it actually happened in the 600 block of Westminister Avenue, near Sherbrook Street.
It's suspected the victim was attacked for his beer, Const. Jason Michalyshen said, but police continue to investigate the assault.
The man was in stable condition in hospital, police said.
