Six members of the Bandidos motorcycle gang are on trial for murder. (Canadian Press)The fate of six men accused in the deaths of eight Toronto men linked to the Bandidos biker gang is now in the hands of the jury.
The six men have pleaded not guilty to eight counts each of first-degree murder in the April 2006 deaths.
The jury, which has been hearing evidence in the case since late March, is now deliberating on the 48 counts.
The court in London, Ont., heard that the killings were preceded by rising tensions between the Toronto Bandidos chapter and the probationary Winnipeg chapter.
The Crown alleges most of the men were members or associates of the Winnipeg group, except Wayne Kellestine, who the Crown alleges was a Toronto Bandido.
The Crown contends the plan that fateful night was for Kellestine to strip the Toronto men of their gang affiliation, but that at some point the plan changed to mass murder.
