A 15-year-old Winnipeg boy remains in stable condition in hospital after being stabbed early Sunday in the Garden City neighbourhood near the Inkster Industrial Park.
Winnipeg police said shortly after 2 a.m., three males were walking near Mapleglen Avenue and McPhillips Street where they were confronted by a group of other males who demanded they hand over money.
One of the suspects stabbed the 15-year-old in the altercation, police said. He was rushed to hospital in unstable condition but his condition has since improved.
Police are asking for the public's help in finding a suspect in the stabbing. They described him as a thin 17- or 18-year-old with short hair, a moustache and a deep voice. He was last seen wearing dark clothing.
Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (204) 786-TIPS (8477).
