Two Winnipeg men out on bail pending other criminal charges were re-arrested after they allegedly attacked a man in a Wolseley-area park Saturday night.
At about 10 p.m. CT, a 48-year-old man was walking in Vimy Ridge Park when two people verbally confronted him, city police said.
He tried to walk away, but he was assaulted by the men, who fled the area right afterward, police said.
The victim sustained a number of injuries but didn't need medical attention, police said.
After a short search of the area by constables, two suspects were arrested.
A 33-year-old man was charged with assault with a weapon and carrying a concealed weapon. A 19-year-old man is also charged with assault with a weapon. Police did not identify either suspect.
Police said both men are also charged with violating the conditions of a prior release.
