Police have recovered the body of the third Oklahoma man killed when a tornado ripped through a fishing resort in northwestern Ontario last Thursday.

The body of Dennis Kinkaid, 66, was found Sunday several metres offshore at the Fisherman's Cove Resort on Lac Seul, about 200 kilometres northeast of Kenora.

Ontario Provincial Police said low visibility in the water and debris left by the storm made searching for the body difficult.

Kinkaid was with two friends when their cabin was blown into the lake. The bodies of Bernie Jackson, 65, and Stanley Hollis, 78, were recovered Friday. All three were from the Oklahoma town of Ponca City.

Environment Canada confirmed Friday that the Lac Seul area was hit by an F2 tornado, with winds between 181 km/h and 252 km/h.

Environment Canada said it issued warnings hours before the tornado hit, but those who witnessed it said they didn't expect a funnel cloud, which is a rare in the region.
