STARS rescues two canoeists from Red River
Emergency responders helped a teen boy out of the river
Emergency responders with STARS air ambulance were called into action this afternoon to rescue two canoeists from the Red River.
STARS was dispatched to the St. Adolphe area for a search and rescue mission at about 12:30 p.m. CT.
Two people were in a canoe on the Red River when it tipped over. Emergency responders helped two people, including a teen boy, out of the river.
The STARS medical crew transported the second canoeist, a man in his 60s, to hospital because of medical complications from being immersed in cold water.
