Pekka Rinne looked like his old self in Nashville's 4-1 win Thursday night against the Winnipeg Jets. The struggling netminder posted a .963 save percentage on 27 shots from the Jets. Predators star centre, Ryan Johansen has played the Jets three times this season, once when he was still on the Columbus Blue Jackets where he got a goal and an assist. Now with Nashville he's added two goals and three assists. Johansen and James Neal have combined for 13 points against the Jets this season.
The Predators win sets the Jets back five points from Nashville and only one point ahead of last place Edmonton.
After the game Jets head coach Paul Maurice wasn't sugar coating anything, he said that even with the injuries the team has right now, that his club needs to be better.
Nikolaj Ehlers had the Jets lone marker and admitted the lose hurts but said there are positives that can be taken from the game, including the fact that the team had a lot of shots and chances.
Jets goalie Connor Hellebuyck was upset and disappointed with the loss but thought the team played a good game despite not being able to get the important win.
