The five kilometre event was a fundraiser for Manitoba Mutts Dog Rescue.

The volunteer-run organization finds foster homes for abandoned, abused or surrendered dogs from all over the province.

Organizers said the run raised more than $5,000, which will help pay expenses such as dog food and vet bills.
