A big pool of water and slush greeted drivers in Winnipeg's south Osborne area on Monday afternoon, thanks to a water main break in the area.
The break on Osborne Street, near the Fort Rouge Leisure Centre, spewed out water along the street during the rush hour.
Danielle Dyck, who works at a Subway restaurant in the area, said the icy water was ankle-deep in the parking lot.
"The exhaust or the fog is quite thick, and it's quite treacherous to walk," she said. "We get a lot of walkers here, so it kind of cuts down on our business."

Much of the water was cleaned up by evening. Traffic was restricted to one lane in each direction as crews opened drains.
