Man dies after snowmobile hits tree near Falcon Lake

A 25-year-old snowmobiler died after his machine crashed into a tree on the Can-Am Trail south of Falcon Lake on Tuesday.

A 25-year-old snowmobiler died after his machine crashed into a tree on the Can-Am Trail south of Falcon Lake on Tuesday.

The man and a 54-year-old man, both from Steinbach, were headed south on the trail when the crash happened just after 11:30 a.m., RCMP said.

The 25-year-old, who was wearing a helmet, was pronounced dead at the scene.

It happened about 40 kilometres south of Falcon Lake in the rural municipality of Reynolds.

Alcohol is not considered a factor in the collision, RCMP said.
