Highway travel is a little difficult in some areas of Manitoba this morning.

After a mild, snow-melting day that filled roads with puddles on Thursday, the frigid air has returned and all that water is now frozen and slick once again.

Highway 16 — the Yellowhead — was closed for several hours between Neepawa and Gladstone because of icy conditions. And several vehicles skidded into the ditch off the Trans-Canada Highway just outside Winnipeg.

Other southern Manitoba highways and roads inside the city of Winnipeg are in similar condition.

Crews are out and drivers are urged to use caution.
