Assiniboine Park Conservancy said thanks to an "overwhelming response" from the public and media coverage, the Nature Playground's missing "Skittles" have been recovered.

A spokesperson for the park said police got a tip about the theft of the large rubber balls Thursday night.

The rubber balls, part of a colourful art installation at the park, had been anchored to the ground when they disappeared and according to park officials, are very heavy.

Park spokesperson Laura Cabak said the Skittles appear to be in good condition and will be reinstalled in the Nature Playground as soon as possible.
