Six men in western Manitoba charged with trafficking cocaine
One man from Ebb and Flow First Nation and five others from Ste. Rose du Lac have been charged with numerous drug offences after three police raids on homes in both communities.
All of the men, who range in age from 18 to 30, are charged with trafficking cocaine, and police said more charges may be pending.
Police said they seized 16 grams of marijuana, one gram of cocaine, and more than $6,000 in cash in a raid on Nov. 21 in Ebb and Flow First Nation.
At the same time, they raided two other locations in Ste. Rose du Lac, where almost a quarter of a kilogram of marijuana was found, along with more drug paraphernalia.
Ebb and Flow First Nation is about 180 kilometres from Winnipeg and sits on the west side of Lake Manitoba.
Ste. Rose du Lac is about 300 km from Winnipeg, not far from Dauphin.
Police said the investigation which started in September, continues.
The accused men are in custody.
