Members of Manitoba's Sikh community gathered in downtown Winnipeg on Sunday to celebrate the 410th anniversary of the Guru Granth Sahib, the religion's holy book.
Hundreds of people took part in a march in the afternoon, while tents were set up outside the Manitoba legislature with food, music and festivities.
Event organizer Nishan Warraich said even the rain could not keep the Sikh community away.
"I'm very thankful of the people who have come with a big crowd and big spirit to celebrate," he told CBC News.
"We believe in that holy book and the holy book belongs to Sikhism," he added. "That's why people have great faith and they come and they celebrate it."
