One person is in hospital after a shooting in Winnipeg's North End.

Multiple calls came in at about 4 a.m. about shots fired in the 700 block of Redwood Avenue, between Arlington and Parr streets, police said.

Not long after, a 22-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound made his way to hospital. He is listed in stable condition, police said.

Darlene Sullivan was at her mother's house when she heard a gunshot.

"I was about to leave my mom's house and then I heard a gunshot so I called 911," she said.

"I got my kids to stay away from the windows just in case. And then my mom saw a girl run through her yard. I saw a guy run through the house across the street here and then three people came from the house that's taped up."

The westbound lanes of Redwood, between Arlington and Parr, are blocked by police tape as police investigate the scene.

Anyone with information on the shooting is asked to contact investigators at 204-986-6219 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).
