Teen arrested in Shamattawa First Nation homicide investigation
28-year-old man died after assault Tuesday at home in northern community
A teenager has been arrested after a resident of Shamattawa First Nation died following an assault on Tuesday.
Police officers responded to a call from a home in the northern community at around 6:20 p.m. on Tuesday reporting an aggravated assault between two males, RCMP said on Monday.
A 28-year-old man was taken to the local nursing station and later died.
Shamattawa RCMP, with help from the national RCMP's major crime services section, are investigating the death as a homicide.
A 17-year-old has been arrested and is in police custody. Charges have not yet been laid.
