One person was taken to hospital after a semi flipped on its side at Lagimodiere Boulevard and Chief Peguis Trail Thursday morning around 10 a.m.

The large dump truck flipped onto the sidewalk and spilled dirt over Lagimodiere, forcing traffic down to one lane and shutting westbound Chief Peguis until around 11:30 a.m.

Winnipeg police said one person was taken to hospital in stable condition.

At least two tow trucks were used to pull the vehicle back onto its tires.

The flip was the second within weeks at that corner.

On Aug. 16, a semi carrying two water tanks flipped around 11 a.m. A family of cyclists narrowly escaped that crash.

The driver in that crash was also taken to hospital.
