Semi crash cleared up in downtown Winnipeg

A semi-trailer had blocked a downtown Winnipeg intersection after taking a turn too wide and crashing into a traffic light.

A semi-trailer had blocked a downtown Winnipeg intersection after taking a turn too wide and crashing into a traffic light.

It happened just before 6 a.m. Monday at York Avenue and Smith Street.

Police and other crews were on scene for a while as the light post was lifted back into place.

The intersection was reopened and the semi allowed to continue on its way just before 7:30 a.m.
