Police and emergency services attended to a rollover on Grant Avenue and Shaftesbury Boulevard on Tuesday afternoon.

Winnipeg police had to shut down a portion of Grant Avenue on Tuesday afternoon after a vehicle rolled over near Shaftesbury Boulevard.

The westbound lane was shut down before 5 p.m., and a semi-truck could be seen parked not far from a car sitting upside down on the roadway.

Emergency crews and police attended the scene, and one person was sent to hospital.

The semi appeared to have a ramp attached to its back end and the front cab of the semi was badly dented.

Police have not said what caused the crash or how serious the victim’s injuries were.

Traffic in the area was badly backed up for nearly an hour after the crash.
