The city is extending its overnight residential parking ban by two hours to allow for streets to be plowed. (CBC)

People are being reminded of a city parking ban going into effect Sunday night as crews being to plow some residential streets. 

The parking ban applies to specific snow zones across Winnipeg from 7 p.m. Sunday to 7 a.m. Monday. 

Vehicles parked in zones being cleared will received a $150 ticket and may be towed to a nearby street that is not scheduled for plowing. 

People who may have been towed because of the parking ban can call 311 for help in locating their cars. 

Residents are asked to look up their zones which have been assigned a letter based on where they live. 

People can look up their zones on the city's website or by calling 311. 

Sunday night's zones are  B, G, J, L, N, Q, T and V.
