One RCMP officer suffered minor injuries and another was unharmed after the marked truck they were in was hit by another truck near Pinawa, Man., early Sunday morning.

The police truck was patrolling on Highway 211 five kilometres west of Pinawa just before 3 a.m. when an eastbound truck side-swiped it, shattering a window on the driver's side.

The truck that struck the police vehicle kept going until officers got it to stop about a kilometre away.

A 45-year-old man who was driving the suspect truck was arrested on charges of impaired driving and breaching a court order condition that required him to abstain from alcohol, according to police.

The officer who was driving the RCMP truck was treated in hospital for minor injuries and released, while an officer who was in the passenger seat was not injured, according to a spokesperson.
