Officers stopped the SUV when it was driving east down the Trans-Canada Highway near St. Francois Xavier on Monday.

Inside the SUV, officers uncovered several massive hockey bags stuffed with plastic bags of marijuana.

All told, officers seized 89 kilograms (196 pounds) of pot from the car.

That amount of dry marijuana would be worth between $490,000 to $588,000 on Winnipeg streets.

Now, two Winnipeg men, one age 52 and the other age 39, are facing drug charges.

The pair are expected to appear in a Winnipeg court on Nov. 21.
