RCMP have made an arrest in a six-year-old arson case.
Falcon Lake RCMP were called to an early-morning cottage fire in May 2007 on the lake’s north shore.
The fire had destroyed the cabin, causing $270,000 damage. At the time, officers found the cottage had been broken into and things had been stolen. They believed the fire was also deliberately set.
Other cabins in the area also showed signs of attempted break-ins.
After a six-year-long investigation, RCMP laid arson and break and enter charges against two 26-year-old men.
They’re set to appear in court in the coming weeks.
