RCMP lay theft charge against officer in The Pas
Constable, 37, faces charge of theft under $5,000
RCMP have laid a theft charge against one of their own officers after an investigation spanning nearly a year.
RCMP’s D Division started an investigation into a 37-year-old constable based in The Pas on May 30, 2013.
An allegation surfaced that an off-duty RCMP officer had been involved in a theft, according to RCMP.
On Monday, the officer was charged with theft under $5,000.
The man is scheduled to appear in a Winnipegosis court in March. In the meantime, the officer has been reassigned to administrative duties.
