The Manitoba government said Monday roads and bridges have taken a beating after recent heavy rains and flooding.

It's warning drivers to assume bridges have been damaged and to slow down and restrict weight to 10 tonnes.

The province said many provincial roads affected have been either closed or marked with caution.

It said municipal roads may also be closed and in western Manitoba they may have load limitations.

It is advising motorists to drive with caution and obey road closure signs.
