On this Manitoba Day the province is announcing 14 new members will be inducted into the Order of Manitoba this year.

The award recognizes Manitobans who have achieved excellence and success in any field.

Among the inductees are Israel Idonije, the Chicago Bears defensive end and first graduate of the U of M Bisons to play in the NFL; Don Duguid, a Canadian curling champion; Jennifer Jones, Curling Olympic gold medal skip; and Lorraine Brandson, curator of Churchill’s world renowned Eskimo Museum.

Members will officially receive the honour May 21 at an induction ceremony with Charles, Prince of Wales, and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall present.
