Four people, including two inmates and an employee, are charged for allegedly supplying illegal drugs to prisoners at Manitoba's Stony Mountain Institution.
The charges stem from a joint investigation between the RCMP and Correctional Service of Canada, which led to the seizure of morphine tablets, ephedrine pills, cannabis oil and cash.
A 29-year-old man from Selkirk, who was a casual employee at the prison, located just north of Winnipeg, was arrested Aug. 22, according to RCMP, which announced the charges on Friday.
A 24-year-old woman from Winnipeg was also arrested Aug. 22.
They have both been released from police custody and are scheduled to appear in court on Oct. 17.
The investigation also led to a 30-year-old and 23-year-old inmate being arrested.
They will appear in Winnipeg court on Sept. 20.
