Police are investigating after a 23-year-old man was badly beaten at a house party in Winnipeg's north end in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Officers were called to the 300 block of Bannerman Avenue where they say a man was found in critical condition at about 1:30 a.m. Police said his condition hasn't changed.
Two men who knew each other became involved in a physical altercation, and as a result the victim was badly injured, police said.
Neighbours told CBC News the incident happened at a house party in the area.
Angela Wheeler, who lives down the street says it's terrible to hear something like this happened, but she still feels safe in the area.
"Again, those incidents generally tend to be more isolated, they don't really impact me so much just because I'm not involved with them, but you never like to hear something like that in your neighbourhood," said Wheeler.
Police have charged a 26-year-old man with aggravated assault.
