Police probe sudden death on Barber Street

Heavily armed police officers were guarding the entrance to a North Point Douglas-area home Monday afternoon after reports came in suggesting an injured person was inside.

Homicide investigators have been called in to probe the sudden death of a man inside a North Point Douglas-area home Monday, police said.

Police were called to 99 Barber St. at about 3:15 p.m. CT. At 4 p.m., two members of the Tactical Support Team were standing guard just outside the home's front yard.

Police said a man inside was found suffering from a serious "upper body" injury. He died not long after, said police.

The dead man was not identified.

No other information was available, police said.
