Police have laid charges against a Winnipeg teen following a fatal collision on Notre Dame Avenue Friday.

A 53-year-old female pedestrian was struck and killed around 6 a.m. at the intersection of Notre Dame and Isabel Street.

Police said a Chevy Impala was speeding northbound down Isabel when it ran a red light and hit a Honda CRV.

The CRV was forced up onto the sidewalk of Isabel Street where it struck and killed a woman.

The driver of the CRV and three of the six people in the Impala were all taken to hospital.

Police said the driver of the Impala fled the scene.

Now, an 18-year-old man is facing multiple charges including driving dangerously causing death, impaired driving causing death, breach of probation and others.

The teen has been detained in police custody.
