Three young men stumbled into a Winnipeg 7-Eleven store, seeking help after being stabbed nearby on Wednesday morning.

Blood, clothing and police tape surround the convenience store at Main Street and Bannerman Avenue.

The blood trail tracks from Cathedral Avenue, along the Main Street sidewalk to the store, where police were called at 4 a.m.

The men are in stable condition but police don't know yet what led to the stabbings.

At 9 a.m., officers were still investigating the scene, and using a lot of evidence markers. There are so many markers, in fact, that police are combining their stock of numbered and lettered ones.

"[I've] never seen this before," CBC News reporter Meaghan Ketcheson said.
