Stabbing sends woman to hospital

A Winnipeg woman was taken to hospital with serious injuries after a stabbing on Sunday night.

Police called to Maryland Street around 10:30 p.m. Sunday

A woman was rushed to hospital with serious injuries after a stabbing in Winnipeg on Sunday night. 

Police were called to Maryland Street, just south of Broadway, around 10:30 p.m.

A woman had been stabbed in the upper body, police said. She was taken to hospital and is in stable condition.

Officers located a 28-year-old man in the area and he was charged with aggravated assault and possession of a weapon. 

Police said the attack was not random and the two were known to each other.
