Plane overshoots runway in Manitoba town
A man and woman were treated in hospital after their small airplane overshot the runway in Altona, Man., on Monday night.
RCMP said the Piper aircraft missed a grass landing strip at the Altona airport just after 8:30 p.m. and ended up in a drainage ditch.
The 70-year-old male pilot and 65-year-old female passenger, both from Altona, were taken to the local hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
Alcohol is not considered to be a factor in the incident.
RCMP are continuing to investigate, along with the Transportation Safety Board.
Altona is located about 100 kilometres south of Winnipeg.
