Investigators are at a home in Boissevain, Man., where a person was found dead following a fire early this morning.

Fire crews and RCMP were called to the fire on Peters Street just before 2 a.m. Tuesday. Firefighters spent about four hours battling the blaze before it was extinguished.

One person escaped the fire, but one person was found dead, according to police.

RCMP did not release details about the deceased person.

The cause of the fire is not known at this time.

The Office of the Fire Commissioner is at the scene, but the investigation has been slowed down by frigid temperatures, according to police.
