Emergency crews were called to the collision at Lagimodiere Boulevard and the South Perimeter Highway at about 3:55 a.m. CT.

Winnipeg police say it appears the man was walking home from a house party in the area when he was hit by a vehicle that then fled the scene.

The northbound and southbound lanes of Lagimodiere Boulevard were closed for much of Sunday morning.

The area, also known as the Highway 59 ramp, started reopening to traffic shortly after 11 a.m., a CBC News videographer said from the scene.

Anyone with information about the collision is asked to contact the Winnipeg Police Service's central traffic unit at (204) 986-6271.
